This video describes how B vitamins have been shown to prevent the brain loss associated with Alzheimer’s disease. It also explains how even as little as one week on a plant-based diet can significantly lower blood levels of homocysteine, a toxin associated with cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease. Significantly, however, and as the video also describes, without a sufficient supply of vitamin B12 – which is something vegans especially need to be aware of – a long-term plant-based diet alone is not sufficient to lower homocysteine levels.
