Greed is rampant in the pharma industry. For a recent example you need to look no further than Purdue Pharma. Purdue was a relatively small drug company until it developed the blockbuster opioid medication OxyContin. And now that it has made billions from the drug, and killed tens of thousands through addiction, it has patented a new drug that it claims can supposedly solve the very crisis that it caused in the first place.
