Here are some of the families who are taking part in our new Movement of Life Uganda community project. The families are being taught about the roles of essential micronutrients in maintaining health and preventing disease. Having learned about the importance of micronutrients, the families are then encouraged to grow micronutrient-rich fruits and vegetables in their home gardens, as a means of improving their daily nutrient intake. They are also encouraged to sell their surplus produce to supplement the family income. In addition to growing fruits and vegetables, some families are also keeping bees and rearing animals. Step by step these families are helping lead the way towards ending malnutrition, improving health, and ending unemployment in the developing world.
