In many countries, life in prison can be very hard. This is certainly the case in Uganda, where inmates go through a lot while paying their debt to society.
Knowing the effect that good nutrition can have not just on general health, but also on prisoner behavior, our Movement of Life Uganda team has recently started working with the Uganda Prisons Service in the Isingiro district government prison. Through taking advantage of the scientific principles of Cellular Medicine and setting up prison gardens, the team plans to teach prison service staff how to grow fruit trees, vegetables, and medicinal plants, in order to help inmates improve their nutritional status.
The photos on this page show a training session, where prison service staff were taught about Cellular Medicine and gardening skills such as making natural compost and organic pesticides.
